It was a great day on the water yesterday. Great weather and sea conditions. Most of the day we sat watching the Betty O chumming and hauling in yellowtail. We had caught two small yellows in the morning but at 3 pm a bait ball exploded behind Unreel then two rods went off. John Szymura grabbed one and SOB the other. Both rods were in the rod holders, with light drag, baited with sardines, one bait on the bottom the other on top. We had earlier pulled hooks on two other big fish so did not want to adjust drag and these fish pulled off a lot of line. John brought his 18 lb fish to the boat and Jerry Napolitano applied the gaff. Bob's fish took longer it was 19.10 lbs. These were good for first and second place at the California Yacht Club Challenge Awards Ceremony
