Weather is going to be outstanding this weekend!! Forecast is calling for dead flat calm sea and little to no wind. Sunrise 6:21 am low tide 7:41 am @2.7', Hi tide 1:32 @ 4.8'
Excellent condition to do Rockfish drifts over small spots. It may take a big Ling cod or halibut to win the contest. If wind comes up in PM try drifting for bass and halibut.
It is also good for looking for bait balls when hunting Thresher-Sharks.
That might be a possible good choice for some big game surface action
Bait Report
Redondo Beach Bait Barge Weekends only – 4-5″ Anchovy
King Harbor
The bait dock will be open tomorrow! The Bonito bite will likely be awesome.
This IS the place to be for local surface action. The Harbor is jugged full of 2lb Bonito.
If the bait receiver is open and selling Anchovy the bite is very good. No bait sales and the bite is slow.
On days they are not selling bait, there is still action very early in the morning along the long breakwall, c lose to the bait receiver.
Flylined Anchovy on 6 to 8lb test works best but using small shiny lures like a Kastmaster or Megabait also works.
A small number 9, black and silver Rapala also works great. Use a floating Rapala! The sinking ones don’t work half as good.
